8-Week Program To Build Cognitive Skills & Connection

[Video: Understanding Dementia Railway Station Analogy - 9 mins]

Hi Debbie. Is it possible to put a opt in here for a 9-minute video.

Watch: Understanding Dementia Through My Rail Station Analogy"

Then add a brief description: "In this short 10-minute video, I explain my signature approach to understanding cognitive changes using a simple rail station analogy that has helped hundreds of families gain clarity and offer practical tips to enhance communication."

This is the first video that I share as part of the Connect at Home program.

It does share IP - but I think it could be helpful for showing people how I speak and teach and hopefully build trust in me?

I would like people to provide an email address to receive this.

What is Connect at Home?

Connect at Home™ is a guided, home-based program based on research and written by a neurological physiotherapist. It supports people living with early–mid stage dementia, alongside the family members or support people supporting them.

The program uses meaningful conversations and shared activities to help strengthen thinking, communication, confidence, and connection in everyday life.

It also supports carers, helping them feel more confident, connected, and supported as they navigate changes together. Connect at Home™ is completed at home, at your own pace, with clear guidance and practical support.

Our program is about supporting thinking, opinions, and discussions

We already talk - and do puzzles.  Is this different?

Absolutely Yes!

Many families tell us they already do puzzles, word games, or daily chats — and that’s a great starting point.

However, puzzles tend to work a narrow range of thinking skills and often don’t support communication, confidence, or social engagement.   Over time, they can even undermine confidence as tasks become harder.

Connect at Home™ is designed to go further - supporting opinions, discussion, reasoning, and confidence in speaking, not just finding the “right” answer.

Connection is the goal — not correctness.

Hi Debbie, I felt that I need to put what the activities cover - and rather than listing the topics I thought this seemed more useful for people.  The info here is supported from  my coaching AI bot - I haven't fully read through it and it seems quite long - I can edit this - I just popped it here in the hope you could add a design to include this as I think it is important for people to know what is in the manual.

Inside Connect at Home™: The Activities That Make a Difference

Our beautifully designed manual includes 20 carefully structured activities that work together to support thinking, communication, and connection. Each activity has been developed by our neurological physiotherapist to be engaging, dignified, and effective.

"Is this program hard enough for my loved one?"

This program was developed by a neurological physiotherapist using evidence-based approaches to cognitive stimulation therapy. It combines clinical expertise with practical, real-world application that families can implement at home.

Professionals trust our approach.

We have had doctors, engineers, farmers, and people from various professional backgrounds all participated in and enjoyed our programs.

A lot of time, thought and expertise has gone into creating a program that is sophisticated and appeals to those accustomed to intellectual engagement while remaining accessible and enjoyable for most.

"I don't want to be my loved one's therapist" - We don't want you to be either!

Many families worry about creating a clinical relationship with their loved one. They want to remain a spouse, child, or friend - not become a therapist.

Connect at Home™ creates quality time together that feels natural and enjoyable. The activities foster connection and conversation without feeling forced or clinical.

As one family member shared about our approach:

"I don't know what you do in there, but he absolutely loves it and comes out feeling so confident."

This program exists because families kept asking what magic happened in our sessions that created such positive changes.

They wanted to recreate that same feeling at home.

Connect at Home™ gives you those tools while preserving your most important role - being family.

(If you work with a paid support person, they can facilitate activities while you take a well-deserved break, though most families tell us they enjoy participating because it makes the day brighter.)

Support for Your Loved One- and for You

Everything you need is prepared and included.

There’s no planning, no printing, and no pressure to get things “right”.

You’re guided through short, structured sessions, so you’re not left wondering what to do next or whether you’re doing enough.

You’ll also have optional access to a private online community for carers, where you can:

  • Connect with others who are in a similar situation

  • Share experiences or ask questions

  • Feel supported along the way

Many carers tell us that connecting with other families is one of the most valuable parts of the program - having the opportunity to speak with people who understand and share real-life experiences.
