PLEASE reach out to health providers and request people are referred for assessment, guidance, and cognitive therapy EARLY in their diagnosis. This gives them the best chance to use neuroplasticity to aid any changes that are developing and helps improve and maintain their function and independence!
It's no secret that many health professionals have not received much training on dementia and are unsure how to support individuals and families. Therefore, it is essential that we reach out to providers who have experience and training in this field.
My passion lies in educating individuals, families, and healthcare professionals about dementia. Understanding its impact on physical, emotional, and psychosocial wellbeing is crucial, as is recognising the behaviour changes that can arise when we fail to comprehend what is truly happening
